Curriculum Vitae

Tze-ki Hon is Professor of History at the State University of New York at Geneseo. He was chair of the History Department from 2007-2010. He is the author of The Yijing and Chinese Politics: Classical Commentary and Literati Activism in the Northern Song Period, 960-1127 (State University of New York Press, 2005) and Revolution as Restoration: Guocui xuebao and the Chinese Nationalist Modernity (Brill, 2013). He has edited two collections of essays, The Politics of Historical Production in Late Qing and Republican China (Leiden: Brill, 2007) and Beyond the May Fourth Paradigm: In Search of Chinese Modernity (Lexington Books, 2008). He has completed a book manuscript entitled Visions of Modernity: Cultural and Historical Debates in Late Qing and Republican China (contracted to Brill) and is completing a co-authored monograph, Teaching the Book of Changes (Yijing) (contracted to Oxford University Press). His articles and book reviews have appeared in the American Historical Review, China Review International, Dao: A Journal of Comparative Philosophy, Journal of Asian Studies, Journal of Chinese Philosophy, Journal of Chinese Studies, Modern China, Monumenta Serica, Philosophy East and West, and Xin Shexue (Modern Historiography, Taipei). He is a member of the editorial board of Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies (Seoul, South Korea).
